Custom Terminal Unit Solutions from Price

In response to demand from several large educational and healthcare institutions, in 2008 Price designed the Texas Low Leak Box (TXLL) specifically to meet the needs of the Texas market. The TXLL is an example of Price’s ability to meet customer requests when solutions have not been available to them via other channels.

After Price received several requests with specialized leakage requirements that could not be met by a standard box, our engineers were quick to respond by gasketing and applying sealant to basic terminal units to reduce leakage beyond traditional standards. While these rapid improvements met the immediate needs of our Texas customers, the engineering team quickly realized that the highest quality and consistency could only be achieved through an entirely new box design.

As a result, the new Texas Low Leak Box has design features that promote functionality and appearance, with the flexibility to meet varied and stringent leakage requirements.

Flexmaster Door
- this specialized, gasketed access door promotes reduced leakage while improving serviceability through larger sizing and quarter turn latches.

Material & Construction
All units have robust construction features including flanged, gasketed connections sandwiched between all seams of the external casing. Superior construction reduces the need for exterior duct sealer and delivers a cleaner appearance. Inner insulation seams are sealed with duct sealer or Hardcast tape to prevent condensation and further reduce air leakage. Up to 20 gauge casing is available on the TXLL.

Factory Testing to Ensure Required Leakage Performance
Units are individually factory tested to ensure that they meet individual project leakage requirements.

Visit us at www.price‐hvac.com or contact your Price Representative for more information on how we can meet your terminal unit needs.

Meeting Custom Leakage Requirements with the TXLL

Price’s Winder, GA plant features a custom rig for the TXLL so that Price can individually factory test all units to ensure they meet a variety of individual customer leakage specifications.

Inlet dampers are tested at 6″ w.g differential pressure and typically leak below 1.5% design flow.
* TXLL construction Single Duct units are factory tested for casing leakage at pressure anywhere from .5″ to 6″ w.g . Leakage as low as 1‐2% of maximum design flow is typically achievable

* TXLL construction Fan Powered casings are factory tested down to 2% of design flow at 2″ w.g. – some units have even been tested at up to 6″ pressure and passed although it should be noted that it is an excessive pressure for typical applications. The Flexmaster Door on the TXLL reduces leakage and improves serviceability.

Ten Million Strong and Growing
Waukegan, Ill. ( June 4, 2008 )

Yaskawa Electric, a world leader in the manufacture of AC drives, servomotors, motion controllers and robotics, recently became the world’s first to ship 10 million variable frequency drives. In reaching this milestone, the company now claims to have more than 14 percent of the global market for drives rated from 0.1 to 300kW.

The Billboard

For Yaskawa, developing world’s firsts has been a common trait, helping numerous manufacturers contain production costs, which at the same time has contributed to the drive maker’s unprecedented growth for more than 30 years.
